MISSIONS

We view missions in two specific ways: the Mission that is our community and Global missions.

We are constantly seeking out opportunities to reach our local community with the Gospel; but in order to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus, we must also take the Gospel internationally. Here at Calvary Hill we intend to do just that!  We accomplish it through various mission endeavors throughout the year.  Some occur annually, but many are year round projects. God has graciously raised up missionaries from our local body that we support, and with them participate in reaching the lost.

You only need to visit Calvary Hill once or twice to hear of the many unique mission projects in which we take part.  We are also a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and choose to support many missionaries by this means.  We support specific missions in Czech Republic Philippines, and Mexico.

We are a ministry minded church and it is our desire to see people come to a relationship with Jesus Christ.  Whether it is in our own backyard or across the Pacific, we want to see lives changed and churches built.

MELISSA WELLS

Melissa became a member of our church when she was getting her education to become a trained missionary. After finishing her schooling she was commissioned by our church through ABWE and is now ministering full-time in the Czech Republic. In the Czech she is focusing primarily on ministering to women who are a part of the sex trade. She is sharing the gospel with these women, providing a means of escape, setting them up with housing and helping them get a job in order to see their lives transformed. Please be in prayer for Melissa and her ministry and if you are willing begin supporting her financially through our sponsoring of her.

Ernie Harman and SER

SER International Ministries is a faith-based ministry to children, young people, and adults in impoverished and remote areas of Mexico. Ernie established the first Day Center and through years of experience as missionaries in Mexico, he found working with children a very successful way to reach families.

The Day Centers are structured to meet the need of the whole person- spiritual, physical, emotional, and educational. Children are taught a Bible lesson, learn a Bible verse, sing spiritual songs, color an activity sheet, and are fed. As a result, parent who bring their children stay and participate. Through God's grace, many have come to know the Lord and have been discipled and trained to run these centers. God has immensely blessed this ministry. Currently all the Day Centers are led by dedicated Christian Mexican workers.

Please be in prayer for Ernie and his wife Hilda and their ministry and if you are willing begin supporting him financially through our sponsoring of him.
